Media training
For more than 20 years I have worked in the fast-paced world of daily newspapers writing across news, features and columns for print and digital media with a focus on politics and people.
I am a skilled, hard-working, tenacious journalist with an eye for a story and an ability to turn complex ideas into straightforward, easy-to-grasp prose for readers. I am also skilled in editing, managing teams and using social media.

IT was back in 1994, after graduating in journalism from Napier University, that I began working in the incredibly competitive world of the Scottish media.

After decades of being a staff writer I am now freelance, writing for a number of Scottish newspapers. But I am also now a writer-for-hire for businesses who want to turn corporate-speak into plain language everyone can understand.

Along with a former colleague I have branched out into the world of media training, in particular for smaller organisations who struggle to get their message heard.

I am a mum to three children and when not watching them run track, kick footballs or perform martial arts I can be found on a hockey pitch. Which is why I'm on Twitter as @wornoutmumhack
